Q.Who Is UCS?

A. Our Town Energy Alliance has partnered with Utility Choice Savings a licensed New Hampshire energy aggregator. UCS selects competitive electricity suppliers to offer customers a competitive rate on electricity, that could save them money.

Q. If I enroll through UCS, will I stop being a customer of my current utility?

A. You will continue to be a customer of your current utility company. They will continue to deliver your electricity. The only change you will see is your new supplier's name in the supply section of your bill along with their lower rate for your electric supply.

Q. What happens if I lose power?

A. Your utility will continue to respond to outages and other emergencies just as they always have.

Q. Will I get two bills to pay?

A. You will continue to receive one bill from your utility. The only difference you’ll see on the bill is  the name of your new electricity supplier and their charges in  the supply portion of your bill. Your bill will also include your utility’s charges for delivery. You make one payment to the utility just like you do now.

Q. Can UCS help my business save on its electricity costs?

A. Yes, UCS serves Residential, Commercial and Industrial customers.

Q. If I enroll, who will be my electricity supplier?

A.  Utility Choice Savings selects competitive priced retail energy suppliers to provide electric supply to OTEA members for the supply portion of your bill.   Your utility still provides all customers with delivery and repair services.

Q. What if I am on my utility’s Electricity Assistance Program?

A. You cannot continue to receive the Energy Assistance benefits if you switch to an alternative electricity supplier.  Consequently, you should stay with your current supplier.
